THE HISTORY I was born in the city of Puntarenas into a pioneering family of boat designers, where my uncle had the first naval design license in the country. My father was his main mentor. My father and uncle gave me my first job as the “line tracer”. With a pencil I drew in the boat master’s plans. At age 6 I received I my first salary, which was only one “colon” per week. Always with my father in his world of boat manufacturing, I decided to take advantage of the tools he didn’t use. THE TEAM The best surfer in the history of Guanacaste, a national champion many times in the ´90s with Carton surfboards, he´s got an old surfer shaper relationship with Carton and has been on the team for more than 10 years. Costa Rica has a good admiration for his wild surfing talent.....MORE

THE FAMILY SURF TEAM The new generation is seriously feeling the fun-filled responsibility to push national surfing to the highest limits. Born in a peaceful land, they are carrying the all-natural ingredients of ¨the Rich Coast¨ with work, love and unity. THE FACTORY After 15,000 hours in the shaping room, with already 9,000 handmade boards in over 20 years of experience your hands and mine get in good connection, putting all your imagination in the blanks, creating life in the ocean and smiles on the surfers´ faces.
Shaping has been the main inspiration in my life. When I discovered the rotation of the wave pushing any body in front, I fell in love! And once this energy got in me when I was around 6 years old riding a piece of styrofoam, that became to be my main working goal...MORE

ABOUT HI my name is Edwin ¨Carton¨ Villalobos, I was born in Puntarenas, Costa Rica in 1976 in front of the wave Boca Barranca, since this time I have felt in love with the movements of the ocean and the relationship between the ocean and the surfboard, the surfboard and man.
